GirlBoss Advantage: Powered by Fletcher Programme

If selected, you will be a GirlBoss intern with Fletcher Construction and Fletcher Living in Auckland. 

When: October 5th to October 9th 2020

Monday - Thursday: 9:30 am - 3:00 pm

Friday: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm

Where: Fletcher Building Offices, Penrose, Auckland

Who: Young women aged 15 - 18

Cost: If selected you will receive a scholarship, worth $1000, to cover your programme fee

This 5 day accelerator programme is most suitable for young women who are passionate about at least one of the following:

- Leadership

- Engineering

- Trades

- Building

- Construction

- Infrastructure 

- Surveying / Quantity Surveying

- Innovation

- Property Development

- Architecture 

- Design

- Urban Planning

If your career interests are not listed above you are still welcome to apply.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a residential programme?


No. The GirlBoss Advantage programme is within the hours of 9:30 am and 3:00 pm on Monday - Thursday. The Graduation ceremony means that on Friday the programme runs from 9:30 am - 6:00 pm. You will be required to have your own accommodation in/near Penrose, Auckland




I have finished high school, can I still apply?


Yes! This programme is open to any young woman aged 15 - 18.




I am not interested in Engineering/Construction/Trades etc. Can I still apply?


Yes, however, we will be prioritising applicants with an interest in Trades, Engineering, Building, Construction, and Technology. Sign up as a member at www.girlboss.nz to be notified of future opportunities that align with your career interests more closely.




What will I do on the programme?


The programme is highly interactive and is designed for young women who are keen to actively participate and execute on their learning. You will practise your networking and interviewing skills in a real life corporate environment. You will take part in intensive leadership and career training. You will develop personal branding skills. You will have a quick-fire problem solving challenge where you will gain CV worthy experiences. You will recieve one-to-one and group mentoring. You will be involved in site visits across the hosting company The GirlBoss Advantage Programme has been created in order to empower you to reach your full potential. Do I have to attend the entire Programme?


Yes. Attendance is required for the full 5 days to successfully graduate from the programme. Monday - Thursday 9:30 am - 3 pm and 9:30 am - 6 pm on Friday.




How much does it cost? How is it funded?


GirlBoss New Zealand works with sponsors to ensure that our programmes are free and accessible to all New Zealanders. The cost of your participation in the programme is $200/day ($1000 in total.) This cost is 100% subsidised by the Ministry of Education. We do require a bond of $125 to secure your place on the programme. This is to ensure that each successful applicant takes full advantage of this opportunity. On successful graduation from the Programme your $125 will be returned.

What will I need to bring?


We will supply morning tea and lunch each day. A laptop would be useful. If you don't have one we will be able to supply a suitable device.




Is there transportation available?


You will need to arrange your own transport to and from the Fletcher Building offices. The offices are located in Penrose, South Auckland. It is close to public transport routes. We are unable to fund any transport or accomodation costs.
